Question: why do we have to were school uniform

    To avoid better off pupils wearing more expensive clothes than those without much money. To engender a sense of pride in being at the school. To encourage a snse of community.

    I agree with David on this one. A school uniform means everyone is the same and ensures that you do not feel excluded if you cannot afford the expensive clothes other parents can buy. in many jobs you have to wear one as well, e.g Police & Nursing, so it is something you might have to get used to as an adult as well.

    I suppose they are not that fashionable but uniforms make everyone look the same and like David & Kevin have said they avoid pupils feeling excluded because they may not be able to afford expensive clothes.
    From a mum’s point of view it makes life easier washing, ironing etc, it’s cheaper to buy uniform, they look smart and are easily identifiable.
