I love Coventry. I like the way it’s more like living in a village – everyone is linked to everyone else, and if you ask enough questions you will always find a person, a place or an event in common with anyone else that lives here. And Coventry may not be perfect, but Coventry people always defend our city even if we criticise things ourselves.
But I wish the football team won a few more matches.

I love Coventry, I think that there are some wonderful talented people & beautiful buildings. I’ve lived here all my life & wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

Very interesting. Very varied. Rapidly changing. My own Ward is fascinating. Lots of decent hard-working people, but we are hit like everyone else by the world recession.

At day to day level, I think the biggest problems are; A starting a career B the amount of anti-social behaviour and vandalism. In particular, that a few young people are letting down the great decent majority by irresponsible behaviour

Coventry is a fantastic city, I moved from Birmingham to Coventry a few years ago and have loved it ever since, favourite place for me would have to be the Ricoh Arena.

Dont get me wrong though, there is still much more than needs improving in the city, such as our city centre shops, I feel that we need a better range of retail shops…similar to the Bullring in Birmingham, this is the direction that Coventry needs to be heading in. We also need to improve our roads as many of the roads in Coventry have too many potholes which can damage your car.

The Council are currently working very hard on these 2 major issues and many others to ensure Coventry improves all the time. What do you make of Coventry?

I like Coventry. I was born here, I grew up here, I went to school here, I work here and I live here. How do you like Coventry? Yes there are things that could change such as the city centre, new schools (which the Conservatives scrapped), better play facilities and hang out areas. That’s why I am creating a young peoples space in the city centre.

Coventry is a city with great potential and one that can provide real opportunities. The best part about Coventry though is the real sense of community. From being part of the Sky Blue Army to helping a local community group. Yet whilst I love Coventry there are problems which cannot be hidden. The City Centre needs major redevelopment and the differences in life expectancy (how long you will live) between areas is shocking. We need to ensure that we are not left behind whilst surrounding areas in Warwickshire develop. I have always thought of Coventry as the capital city of Warwickshire and it is in our interest to move away from being twinned with Birmingham as we have been since the 1970’s.
