At the moment I’m working alongside the Police to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in certain areas of Coventry, which is beginning to work and improve the area for the better, so local residents no longer have to put up with vandalism, cars being smashed or broken into, graffiti and burglaries.
I’m also looking at ways the Council can help improve the type of shops Coventry has in the city centre, and turn it into a more modern shopping centre similar to the Bullring in Birmingham. I think its always best to work on issues that you feel passionate about, so I’m also looking at new ways to tackle obesity in children and adults, because as a city more and more people are becoming fatter which isn’t good for peoples health and puts extra pressure on our health services.
What improvements would you like Coventry City Council to make to our city?
I am fighting hard to get as much money as possible spent on schools and services for young people, because young people are the future of the city. I’m also working with the police to tackle crime in my area, including going to court as a witness when necessary.
We all work hard to make sure that the services you receive are good quality, the council has frameworks in place to monitor feedback from residents and to act on that information to make changes
